How to make an NHS uniform bag

Calling anyone with a SEWING machine or spare pillowcases/FABRIC!

We have started making drawstring UNIFORM BAGS for NHS staff in Respiratory, A&E, & ITU at Maidstone Hospital to put their UNIFORM in after their shift.  So the whole bag can be put straight in the WASH without touching the uniform again, reducing the risk of passing germs on to loved ones at home.

These can be made with PILLOWCASES to make it easier, or fabric for those of you with better sewing skills than me! Bags need to be a minimum of 15in x 12in for the folded uniform. Or larger to fit their shoes in too.

If you would like to help or donate some bags/pillowcases or know anyone that would, then please SHARE this information.

*Most tunics that are navy or white so material must be able to be washed at 60+ degrees without colours running*

Thank you.

These can be dropped off locally to more to follow on getting them there shortly
Or taken to Maidstone Hospital Main entrance to the security guards, in an envelope marked for the attention of “D.Barton- Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist – Respiratory CNS Office”
