Wages and the minimum wage

These rates are for the National Living Wage (for those aged 23 and over) and the National Minimum Wage (for those of at least school leaving age). The rates change on 1 April every year.

April 2022

  • Aged 23 and over – £9.50
  • Age 21 – 22 – £9.18
  • Age 18 – 20 – £6.83
  • Under-18s – £4.81
  • Apprentice – £4.81
